fabric treat bags for valentines

this year, i decided to make little bags out of fabric for my kids
to give away to their classmates on valentines day.

each one was filled with candy,

tied with a black ribbon, and
adorned with a heart shaped tag.
i'm not much of a sewer,
but they were super simple to make!

it cost just under $5 for all the fabric,
and $4 for the ribbon.
i already had the paper.
so--under $10 for all the supplies for the
bags--not bad, considering how many of them i made!
by the way, i bought all of the supplies,
including the candy from walmart.

i used my cricut to cut out the hearts.
each child wrote their classmates names on the tags.

oh, yeah, and did i mention that i have
3 kids in school?

yeah, i made 75 of these little suckers!
i made sure to take some pictures, so that
when my kids are teenagers, and they tell me
that i don't love them, i can use these pictures as
evidence to the contrary.
well, that, and i wanted to show you.

isn't this fabric cute?
i loved the colors.

  1. These are fabulous! I love to see that non-sewers (like myself) could actually do something like this. It's simple stitching, but very impressive looking!
